Introduction to Buddhism

Tue., March 19, 2024
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

1st Course, March 19 – April 9

Curious about Buddhism and the basic teachings in Buddhism? What is the cause of suffering and discontentment, and can we find a path that offers peace, happiness, and freedom from suffering?

Nalandabodhi Colorado is offering a series focused on the basic principles of Buddhism and foundational Buddhist topics. The courses are based on talks by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, a contemporary Tibetan teacher and facilitated by senior students of Nalandabodhi Colorado. We explore such topics as the Four Noble Truths, karma, egolessness, the purpose of mindfulness practices, and the path of meditation.

Each class starts with a brief, guided meditation, followed by talk and discussion. There are 4 courses in the Intro Series and each course runs 4 weeks.  All are welcome!

First course is titled The Life of the Buddha and the Spiritual Journey.

Offered online, via Zoom, 6:00 to 7:30 pm Mountain time, Tuesday evenings, March 19 – April 9.

The cost is $25 per course (includes 4 classes).

Recordings will be available if you miss a class.

Please register (below) to receive the Zoom link.

We recommend purchasing the accompanying sourcebooks by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, available for purchase from the Nalanda bookstore.   ($15 plus shipping).  If you plan to take all four courses in the series, then the texts for all four courses can be purchased together as a bundle to save on shipping costs. The bundle can be purchased from the Nalanda Store here:

The course will be offered via Zoom as an online course.  If there is sufficient in interest in attending in person at the NBCO Center in Boulder, we will offer the course as a hybrid.  You can let us know your preference through the registration.

Contact Rebecca White at rebeccabentonwhite@gmail.com for more information and/or to discuss alternate financial arrangements for taking the course.
