Please join us in joyfully welcoming the year of the Wood Snake at Nalandabodhi’s Losar liturgy and celebration on Saturday, March 1, 2025, both onsite at NalandaWest and also online. We are delighted to announce that our precious teacher, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, will join us for the Losar celebration.
As you know, Losar is the Tibetan New Year and an auspicious time to practice together, to clear away any obstacles, and to set aspirations for 2025, but did you know that the auspicious attributes of the Wood Snake are linked to wisdom, intuition, and mystery? The snake is also known for its sharp intelligence and charm, while the wood element promotes expansion and renewal, creativity, and adaptability. Blended together, along with careful planning, the Wood Snake year supports new beginnings, personal growth, and creative endeavors, though ultimately, there is no snake, only wisdom and luminous clarity. How wonderful is that?!
Schedules
Following the guidance of Rinpoche, all local centers are encouraged to gather locally. For those who are unable to join locally, Akasha will host an informal social gathering online. Please check with your local center about community gatherings and service opportunities.
Generosity and Registration
There is a lovely tradition of the sangha and community supporting the activities of the acharyas and lamas during the pujas. When we practice generosity in this way, we create a mandala of abundance for the Three Jewels welcoming in the year of the Wood Snake.
