Rysiek Frąckiewicz encountered the Kagyu lineage and took Buddhist refuge at the age of 19. He met Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche at the 1998 Nitartha Summer Institute and was formally accepted as his student a year later at the first Nalandabodhi Sangha Retreat.

Rysiek is a Nalandabodhi Practice Instructor, has led many study and practice courses for Nalandabodhi Seattle, and is a Nitartha Institute Teacher in Training.
