Lojong, or mind training, is a core contemplative practice in all the lineages of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Rooted in the teachings of Atisha and systematized in texts such as The Seven Points of Mind Training, these pithy slogans offer a practical method for transforming the mind. The focus is to turn away from self-centered habits and to cultivate bodhicitta, the awakened heart with the intention to benefit others. We will provide guidance for integrating these powerful instructions into everyday life.
Starting on March 30 and ending on May 11th, Nalandabodhi Colorado will be offering a weekly course on Mondays on Mind Training. The course will be very much focused on the practice of the Atisha’s Mind Training slogans with specific practice instructions being given for each slogan. Class discussion will be encouraged, be it on how your practice of a particular slogan or slogans went during the week, as well as any discussion or questions on the slogans being introduced in the class.
