Hosted by Nalandabodhi Seattle. This series of teachings is based on Mitra Karl’s published book “A Lullaby to Awaken the Heart” (2018). In these four teaching sessions, he will share the in-depth meaning and symbolism of each stanza of this powerful aspiration prayer. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. Buddhist Responses to Modern Problems invites innovative thinking about the array of threats, challenges, and conflicts we presently face in the world. Celebrated Buddhist scholars and practitioners will address some of the most pressing and intractable issues of the present day, including ritual during the pandemic; systemic racism and civil unrest; social media and the rise of fascism; and the necessity of renunciation.  Attend individual sessions or whole series.  Learn more and register

PoMA Here and Now: Path of Mindful Activity Weekly Workshop Series Begins on Sunday, 18 October 2020

 
Hosted by Nalandabodhi Akasha, this weekly 30-minute series begins at 6:00 pm Eastern time. Mitra Mark Power opens this series of workshops that offer simple practices for embodying the view and extending our meditation’s reach. The Path of Mindful Activity supports our aspiration to be fully present, with positive motivation, in each moment—yes, even this one! You can see your time zones here.

On October 18th and October 25th, Mitra Mark will introduce the Path of Mindful Activity’s essential points in two talks. He says that his presentations “may include textual references, poetry and creative applications of the dharma in daily life.” Guaranteed to be provocative! Other workshop leaders will include Genko Kathy Blackman, Rosemary Bakker, Ellen Balzé, Diane Crawford, and Midori Nakamura. Join us for a few sessions or many. All are welcome!

Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche Teaching at Treasury of Knowledge Retreat

Friday, November 13th to Sunday, November 15th

The Contemplative Resource Center (CRC) is pleased to host Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and the 26th Annual Treasury of Knowledge Retreat for a special weekend of teachings entitled Medicine Buddha, Intrinsic Health and Healing. This virtual weekend teaching and meditation event is open to the International community. A teaching and meditation program on the Practice for Pacifying Physical Illnesses, Calamities, and the Purification of Negative Karma.  The weekend teaching and meditation event is open to the public. Mitra Tyler Dewar Teaching “Invoking Compassion: The Practice of Avalokiteshvara” on Thursday 29 October


Nalandabodhi International hosts Mitra Tyler on Thursday, 29 October, at 11 am Pacific Time. Mitra Tyler will offer an overview and guided practice of a meditation liturgy (Sanskrit: sadhana) associated with the great bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig). We will explore the foundational principles of this deity yoga practice and the symbolism and significance of the famed “six-syllable mantra” of Avalokiteshvara, OM MANI PADME HUM.

This is open to the public.

Teachings with Acharya Tashi Wangchuk on the Mahamudra Aspiration by the Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje on Sundays, 25 October 25 through 13 December.


Nalandabodhi Seattle hosts Acharya Tashi Wangchuk on Sundays, beginning 25 October at 11:00 am Pacific Time. Join your Seattle sangha siblings as they meditate from 10:30 am – 11:00 am. Acharya will then teach from 11:00 – 12:00 pm Pacific time. You can see your time zones here.

Registration is required 24 hours before each teaching, to allow time to send the Zoom link and password to participants.
