Upcoming Events/Courses

Dear Members and Friends,

There is an abundance of online activities to explore and enjoy while our physical meditation center remains closed.  Here are a few that are being offered by the Nalandabodhi Centers, including NB Colorado.

Mahayana Study – Kindling The Spark of Awakening

Starting Tue., August 25, 2020
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Mahayana builds on the foundation of Hinayana, expanding our concern for our own happiness to include that of others. These teachings introduce us to the possibility of transforming even the most negative emotions into positive states of mind. By working with our emotions and exploring the illusory nature of all phenomena, we can develop a heart of genuine compassion. Mahayana also introduces us to the idea of buddha nature — the understanding that our hearts and minds are, from the beginning, the same as the Buddha’s.

Hinayana View

Thursdays, Sept. 3 – Oct. 15, 2020

Also known as the “foundational vehicle,” Hinayana is the basis of entering the path as taught in the Vajrayana Buddhist traditions. In this stage of study and contemplation, we take a courageous look at our personal unease and suffering, as well as our comfort and happiness. By working with these experiences, we learn how to step away from confusion and toward truly helping ourselves and others.
Core curriculum materials are drawn primarily from the teachings of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, who also designed the curriculum.

SUGGESTED DONATION
$50 per person for NB members, $60 for non-members.

Mahasiddha Retreat Center’s Amitabha Retreat

Sat and Sunday., August 29-30, 2020
9:30 am – 4:00 pm

Join Nalandabodhi Canada and Mahasiddha Retreat Centre for a weekend of online teachings and practice on Amitābha with Nalandabodhi Canada’s Spiritual Guide, Lama Rabten Tshering.

Come for part of the weekend or for all six sessions! This is an unrestricted practice. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome. Click here for more information and to register.

Amitābha Buddha is strongly emphasized in the Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhist tradition. When people pass away, Amitābha practice is the most commonly performed. This practice is also performed for the wellbeing of the living. For this reason, anyone who may wish to submit a prayer request for the living and/or deceased are invited to do so. We will read aloud the names of requested individuals and will offer lamp offerings and do dedications for them during the afternoon practice sessions. Please register to submit prayer requests.
